Macular degeneration

Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness

It is  a  progressive  disease  that  causes  a  part of  your  retina  called  the  macula  to  slowly  deteriorate  as  you  get  older.  The  macula  is  responsible  for  your  central  vision,  which  allows  you  to  do  things  like  read,  watch  TV,  recognize  faces,  and  drive.

Nearly 1 in 8 adults over the age of 60 suffer from from this disease. Could you have undiagnosed macular degeneration?

Impaired dark adaptation is the first symptom of AMD

Problem seeing at night is the first warning sign

The earliest symptom of macular degeneration is trouble seeing at night. Many people blame night vision problems on the normal aging process. But it could be something more.

If you begin having difficulty seeing at night, it’s time to talk with your doctor. You may have impaired dark adaptation.

AdaptDx measures night vision

AdaptDx measures night vision

There are several types of tests that check for macular degeneration. But most tests can only detect it in later stages. A new tool, called AdaptDx®, identifies it much earlier by testing your night vision.

If the AdaptDx test indicates signs of macular degeneration, you and your doctor have valuable time to develop a plan to delay or slow down the disease progression. Find macular degeneration before it's too late!

What living with advanced macular degeneration looks like…
